Parents & Children (3-12) Program
Nursery care provided for children ages 0-2!

Calvary Church West Hartford is proud to present a Parent and Child based VBS program this year.  Parents and Children will receive instruction (together and separately) that will help build bonds in the family and with God.

Parents and children start and end the evening interacting together and then separate
for the teaching time.

Here's How Family VBS Works

Parents and children start and end the evening interacting together and then separate during the teaching time. Children go to Hero Training Camp while parents watch the interactive video training program by Dr. Scott Turansky and Joanne Miller, RN, BSN. All family members learn about the biblical concept of the conscience to help children be internally motivated in four areas: Do what’s right, deal with wrongs, be honest, and care about others. Plus you can offer the three optional Family Night Events over the next three months to continue family development.

TOGETHER
Parents are the primary spiritual trainers of their children. As parents start off the evening, they introduce the Bible concept and teach the lesson through an activity or game. Then at the end of the evening parents and children come back together for a debriefing where parents lead the discussion and conclusion.

FOR PARENTS
Everyday Parents CAN Raise Extraordinary Kids Video Series
Use the interactive video training program by Dr. Scott Turansky and Joanne Miller, RN, BSN to help parents train their kids to be internally motivated instead of relying on parental prompters.

FOR CHILDREN
Hero Training Camp Children’s Curriculum
Hero Training Camp uses the life of David and the biblical concept of the conscience to teach children to be internally motivated in four areas: Do what’s right, deal with wrongs, be honest, and care about others.
Both the parent training video series and the Hero Training Camp children’s program use the biblical concept of the conscience to help children become internally motivated instead of relying on parental prompters. The lessons in both programs complement each other.
